NOVEMBER 1, 2016 - WE ARE MOVING
. . . INSIDE for the Winter Season.

Starting November 1, 2016, the Boalsburg Farmers' Market will be held indoors at St. John's United Church of Christ which is located at 218 N. Church Street, Boalsburg, PA.

There's plenty of free parking in the church parking lot and in the gravel parking lot across the street. Please, use the church's double side doors only.

We will remain at our indoor location until May when we move back outdoors. See you there!!! Bring a friend or two and help spread the word about our market.

 

WE PARTICIPATE IN "SNAP"
(Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program)

Boalsburg Farmers' Market now participates in SNAP. Some of the SNAP eligible food items that you can find at our market include:

*Produce (potatoes, carrots, garlic, onion, spinach, kale, cabbage, beets, turnips, sweet potatoes, squash & more)
*Baked goods (breads, cookies, granola, soft pretzels, fruit pies & more)
*Brazilian cheese bread (and other specialty items)
*Cheeses & raw milk
*Eggs (chicken & duck)
*Fresh pasta (specialty ravioli, sauces & more)
*Goat dairy (kefir, yogurt, cheeses, milk, ice cream & desserts)
*Maple syrup
*Meats (chicken, beef, pork, turkey & more)
*Mushrooms
*Salmon (filets & more)
*Seasonal fruits & products (applesauce, apple cider, etc.)

MAY 3, 2016 - WE ARE MOVING
. . . OUTSIDE for the Summer Season.

The Boalsburg Farmers Market moves to its regular venue in the parking lot of the Pennsylvania Military Museum (along Route 322/45 in Boalsburg, PA), celebrating the return of a new season of a wonderful local shopping experience. Over twenty vendors offer products they grow and make themselves, including produce, fruit, cheese and other dairy products, eggs from chickens on pasture, grass fed meat, baked goods, prepared foods, jellies and sauces, wine, handmade soaps, and more. Rated THE BEST LOCAL FARMERS' MARKET by State College Magazine.

We will remain at our outdoor location until November when we move back indoors.

There's plenty of free parking in the parking lot and in the adjacent field. Bring a friend or two and help spread the word about our market. See you there!!!

 

JUNE 10, 2014 - KIDS DAY. . .
. . . featuring a "Learning Kitchen."

Tony Sapia of Gemelli Bakers will teach elementary school children how to purchase and demonstrate how to prepare the beautiful produce available at the market. Students from the June 3rd "Farmer Comes To School" presentation will be given a $5 voucher to use to purchase products from market vendors. 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

 

JUNE 17, 2014 - HEALTH SCREENING
. . . by the Mount Nittany's Diabetes Network.

Free blood sugar screenings, wellness information, and giveaways. As part of Mount Nittany Health's mission to make people healthier, the network seeks to prevent/delay the onset of diabetes, promote early diagnosis, and improve diabetes outcomes. 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

 

JUNE 24, 2014 - LEARNING KITCHEN
. . . Cooking Demonstration.

Noted local chefs and cooking instructors demonstrate how to make dishes using ingredients provided fresh by the Boalsburg Farmers Market. Samples of dishes prepared provided. 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

 

JULY 15, 2014 - VEGETABLE FESTABLE

Demonstrating creative ways to prepare nutritious, local vegetables and fruits. Recipes, nutrition information, and free samples included. 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

 

AUGUST 5, 2014 - 4th ANNUAL
GOLDEN BASKET AWARD
. . . Chefs' Competition.

Noted local restaurant chefs compete for the Golden Basket award by preparing at the market dishes made from ingredients obtained from Boalsburg Farmers Market vendors. The event is part of the "local foods week" celebration in the Centre Region, and is coming to be known as the Culinary Olympics of Centre County. 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

 

SEPTEMBER 10, 2014 - 3rd Annual
"Plow To Plate" Harvest Dinner

The Boalsburg Farmers Market and Mt. Nittany Winery present our third Harvest Dinner celebrating local food with a variety of dishes all prepared by our area's best chefs from fresh ingredients obtained at the Boalsburg Farmers Market.

Wednesday, 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Mt. Nittany Winery, 300 Houser Rd, Centre Hall, PA 16828. $35 per ticket, kids under 12 free. Tickets available at Boalsburg Farmers Market after July 1st.
